Policies
All Volleyball Yukon Members need to be aware of three important Volleyball Canada & Volleyball Yukon Pan-Canadian policies: the Code of Conduct and Ethics, Abuse Policy, and the Discipline and Complaints Policy.

Code of Conduct and Ethics
The Code of Conduct and Ethics is to ensure a safe and positive environment within the programs, activities, and events of Volleyball Yukon and Volleyball Canada by making individuals aware that there is an expectation, at all times, of appropriate behaviour consistent with the applicable core values of Volleyball Yukon and Volleyball Canada. Volleyball Yukon and Volleyball Canada support equal opportunity, prohibit discriminatory practices, and are committed to providing an environment in which all Individuals are treated with respect and fairness.

Abuse Policy
Volleyball Yukon and Volleyball Canada are committed to a sport environment free from Abuse. The Abuse Policy is to stress the importance of that commitment by defining abuse and educating Individuals about abuse, outlining how Volleyball Yukon and Volleyball Canada will work to prevent abuse, and how abuse or suspected abuse can be reported to and addressed by Volleyball Yukon and Volleyball Canada.

Discipline and Complaints Policy
Individuals are expected to fulfill certain responsibilities and obligations including, but not limited to, complying with all policies, Bylaws, rules, and regulations, including the UCCMS, the Abuse Policy, and the Code of Conduct and Ethics.

Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport
Volleyball is the only sport in Canada to be a signatory of the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) at all levels of play (National, Provincial/Territorial, and Club).
Every member of Volleyball Yukon and Volleyball Canada who are registered in the Volleyball Registration System (VRS) are compelled by the UCCMS. Non-compliance will result in national sanctions (see Reporting below).

Complaints and Reporting
If in doubt about reporting, call, text or email the Abuse-Free Sport Helpline. The complaint will be assessed and you will be recommend to either file a UCCMS complaint or non-UCCMS complaint.
Anyone 18 years or older has a "Duty to Care" to report and make sure it's through the proper channels.

UCCMS Complaints
Any complaint that deals with discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, violence, or abuse (as defined in the UCCMS) must be reported to the Abuse-Free Sport subsidy, Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC). OSIC operates independently to administer complaints about alleged violations of the UCCMS.
Where there are admissible allegations of abuse, harassment or discrimination, OSIC conducts independent investigations and recommends sanctions against individuals who violate the UCCMS. OSIC will also maintain a national sanctions registry, which prevents individuals from evading sanctions by moving to different sports or to different jurisdictions. Non-UCCMS Complaints
Any complaint that deals with Code of Conduct and Ethics and/or Abuse Policy violation, but are not specific to the UCCMS must be reported to the Club's Discipline Chair or the Volleyball Yukon Discipline Chair.
